right temperature, parasites and bacteria will reproduce
quicker than the Koi can recover.

Bacterial infections will also go up with the heat, keep a
REGULARLY close eye on them, and again, do not go straight into
the high protein foods, stick with the wheat germ then
TEST YOUR mix in a growth food after a week or so, there is no rush.
WATER Test Your Water

PARAMETERS When the filters are kicking in from the Winter into the
Spring, please keep a close eye on water parameters,
Nitrite Spikes, Ammonia Spikes and pH Crashes can all
happen when the filter is trying to recover and kick in,
and it can happen overnight! As you start to feed please
keep a close eye, if you need to treat the pond then
really check the water for a week or so after.
I have recently been visiting a couple of ponds and
already there are crazy amounts of blanket weed
coming through, make sure you nip this in the bud as
soon as it makes an appearance, hit it now and you will
be fine for the rest of the year (fingers crossed).
Just simple Koi keeping can make sure the change from
Winter to Spring is a complete success.
