while we viewed their pond and Koi. I particularly liked
a very nice Sanke Manny bought years ago, and that
I’d seen on my last visit. There were some very nice
clean Koi in his pond, some of them he’d had for years,
all looking healthy. Above the pond was a pergola and
all around there were plants in pots, Hostas, Acers – it
I WAS REALLY looked fantastic. At one end of the pond was a shower,
here, Manny had built a tray where water plants could
       IMPRESSED flourish in the nitrates.
WITH THE Last time I visited Manny I was really impressed with
the neatness of his filtration system which was housed
NEATNESS below ground under decking, and you gained access
down a few steps. Manny built the pond himself which
OF MANNY’S is block-built with a fibreglass finish and has a capacity
FILTRATION of 4,000 gallons. I was impressed with the neatness of
all the pipework, what a great job.
SYSTEM Manny has two bottom drains which delivers water to a

drum filter and fluid bed (previously he had a sieve and
bead filter) before returning water back to the pond via
the shower and low level return to introduce a current.
