KOI SHOW 2023
The North of England Koi Show took place
over the weekend of the 12th & 13th August.
Craig McNish.
When I was elected Show Chairman at the last
AGM, with a new Show committee, although it was
the first time I had undertaken the task, I had been
WE KEPT BUSY involved in the running of previous Shows for our Club
and was confident that with the back-up of our strong
IN THE DAYS Show team everything was going to be okay.
RUNNING UP As usual our Show was to take place at the Whitburn
TO THE SHOW Church of England Academy, Septimus Hall, Whitburn,
Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. The Septimus Hall is a
ENSURING large, modern, well-equipped sports hall boasting lots
EVERYTHING of natural light, excellent facilities and ample free car
parking – perfect for a Koi Show. We started planning
WAS IN PLACE the Show early, but as we have held our Show many
times before, everyone knew what to do.
We kept busy in the days running up to the Show
ensuring everything was in place. As our Show is held in
a Church Hall with a polished floor, as previous years
plastic sheeting had to be laid down to ensure the floor
was protected before any vats could be erected.
We set up 28 vats using our trickle-in/trickle-out system,
we introduced another feature to minimise water
Grand Champion disruption for the viewing public and installed our new
86cm Kohaku owned by
Stephen & Anthony Grey. air bar system. Everyone was cheerful and busy getting
everything set up for this annual event.
