As always there was a very
high standard of Koi entered
in the Show.
I walked around the Show ring admiring the Koi, as
always there was a very high standard of Koi entered,
but they weren’t all big, some of the smaller sizes were
excellent examples of the variety and it would be easy
to miss some of them in Show vats with much larger Koi
in with them.

SIZE 6 KOI Chairman’s Miyabi Award and the Society Chairman’s
Sakura Award as the committee wanted to acknowledge
the fantastic Size 6 Koi entered which often don’t get
the recognition they deserve.
Following the success of last year, along one side of the
Show ring was the ‘Dealers’ Show’ where Koi dealers
could enter Koi up to Size 5 (65cm) which would give
more dealers the opportunity to take part. Each dealer
could only enter one Koi in each of the five sizes. The
winner was chosen by hobbyists, Chip Kawalsingh,
Carmen Jenkins and David Pope. The dealers taking
part were Coastal Koi, Perfect Aquatics, Shirley
Aquatics, Koi Water Barn, Queni Koi, Reefer Aquatics
and My Boy’s Koi.
Another great National Show is over, we chatted about it
on the way home – let’s see what next year brings.
