built a new pond and filter system second to none.
Noman, as usual, served us with his special coffees
and biscuits then we went outside to view his Koi.
Our third stop was at Steven Dolby’s home, who has a
small, but very nice pond with some top class small Koi
– one to watch if he starts taking his Koi to the Shows.
We then travelled to the next pond in Pontefract to
meet Robin Vaughan. Robin won GC last year but our
rules say, any Koi that have won any of the Champion
awards cannot be shown the next year. Saying that he
entered 5 stunners!
Next stop was my pond in Castleford where we had
dinner. Freshly cooked roast gammon and chicken and
bacon sandwiches and cakes my wife, Mandy, had
prepared for us. We benched and judged my Koi then
drove to the next pond in Alleton Bywater owned by
Stephen Howgate. Stephen is a new member and has
shown his Koi before – he had some very nice Koi.
